Lost your dice? Don't worry! Here are two simple ways to keep your Ludo game going using everyday materials you probably already have at home.
Paper Number Draw
Create six small paper squares and write the numbers 1 to 6, one number on each piece. Fold every paper so the number is hidden, mix them together, then place or gently toss them onto the table.
Each player picks one folded paper without looking, opens it to reveal the number, moves their game piece, then folds it again and returns it to the pile. Every number has an equal chance of being picked, making this a simple replacement for a dice.
Make a Simple Spinner
Draw a circle on paper and divide it into six equal sections. Write the numbers 1 to 6 inside the sections.
Use a paper clip with the tip of a pencil, or attach a cardboard arrow using a split pin. Give the spinner a flick and use the number it points to instead of rolling a dice. Children often enjoy decorating the spinner before the game begins.
